Assessor

Building
The goal and mission of the Building Department is to partner with you in achieving safe built structures by complying with current building codes and safety standards.

Clerk
The County Clerk is a nonpartisan elected constitutional officer as provided in Article 6, Section 6 of the Oregon Constitution and the Oregon Revised Statutes, Chapter 205, and serves a term of four years.

County Counsel
The Office of the County Counsel provides legal services for Douglas County Government.

District Attorney
The District Attorney is elected for a four-year term and serves as the prosecuting attorney for the State of Oregon in Douglas County. The District Attorney's primary duties include: prosecuting crimes occurring in the County which violate State statutes (excluding cases filed in municipal courts); conducting grand jury sessions; and attending court sessions.

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT)
The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team was originally formed in October 1989. The specialized unit was formed as part of a three-prong approach to substance abuse issues affecting Douglas County, Oregon. The law enforcement component works closely with the demand reduction and treatment prongs of the County wide plan.

Emergency Management
The Douglas County Emergency Management Department provides the foundation for our disaster, emergency, and crisis response initiatives. We plan, coordinate, educate, and support a wide range of activities that help prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and large-scale emergencies.

Facilities Department
The Facilities Department is responsible for all new construction, repair, remodeling, maintenance, and cleaning of the County's buildings and grounds.

Human Resources
The mission of the the Human Resources Department is to promote the most efficient level of service to the public and all other users of Human Resources' services by maximizing each employee's contribution through recognition of their individual abilities and talent and to help develop a sense of meaning and enjoyment in county service.

Information Technology
The Information Technology Department provides computer and other technology related services to all County Departments. They provide online data services to business and government agencies and are in charge of the County's telephone (voice) system.

Justice Courts
There are two Justice Courts in Douglas County. These courts have jurisdiction to handle traffic offenses, violations, small claims, civil suits, FED cases (landlord-tenant evictions), and criminal cases up to a Class A misdemeanor. In addition, Justice Courts may hold preliminary hearings, issue arrest and search warrants, and conduct felony arraignments.

Juvenile
The mission of the Douglas County Juvenile Department is to promote public safety by holding youth accountable for delinquent acts, providing youth with opportunities to restore their victims and our community, and offering reformation services to assist youth in becoming productive and responsible citizens.

Land
The Douglas County Land Department has two primary responsibilities: Real Property Management; Forest Management. Real Property Management includes the acquisition of properties for County projects, managing and selling surplus and tax-foreclosed real property, and administration of County leases. The Forest Management section is responsible for managing County owned forest lands, and providing forestry advice and services to other county departments. Activities include logging, planting, vegetation management and timber cruising/appraisal.

The Douglas County Law Library is open to the public and provides access to statutes, rules, cases and other legal information through printed materials and electronic access.

Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC)
The Douglas County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC) acts as an advisory body to the Board of Commissioners on public safety policy matters

The department is responsible for providing accounting services, treasury services and administering the property tax collection system in an accurate and timely manner.

On-Site Wastewater
Douglas County On-Site Services monitors all on-site septic systems in areas of Douglas County where public sewer is not available, in coordination with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

The Parks Department has grown to over 2,800 acres of recreational opportunities for residents and tourists alike. With over 70 dedicated parks, located in the 100 valleys of the Umpqua River, it is the perfect place to go for picnicking, hiking, camping, boating, fishing, trail riding, and ocean dune recreation.

The Planning Department, an agency of County government, provides information and technical assistance to the public and local officials, administers the County land use ordinances, and supports a variety of citizen involvement and planning related programs.
